Post- Scooter Rally

25 February 2008 in Coffee, General

Well the Classic Scooter Rally came and went, and mate it was fun! the journey there and back was great as well.. Scootering thru the countryside, is a great way to enjoy it, without being in too much of a hurry.

The Rally was held at a farm about 27kms out of Martinbourgh in the Wairarapa, and was a great road out there, very windy, and at times gravel! No Cell phone reception too, which was actually kinda nice, (except for the guy who got lost for 3hrs by taking a wrong turn:)

I loved the fact that there were the old fellas, that have been riding them for years and years, and the relativly newbies, and that we are all from all walks of life. Very cool, chatting to people you may not otherwise even have anything to do with!

On Saturday, we all went for a ride to greytown for brekky/brunch and on to show the scooters in the square in Martinbourgh. What a site.. at a guess 50+ bikes.. mostly classics. And the sound when we all take off into the sunset… ;)

Anyway great weekend! and on the way home, stopped again in Greytown for a bite to eat and a coffee.. and had a brilliant coffee at The French Baker on the main road thru the town! very good way to break up the trip! (for those interested… from what i can tell he used Allpress Coffee from Auckland)

Below is a picture of mike with our loaded bikes for the weekend, as we stopped for a break in Greytown, and yes, that is a moped sticking out of my sidecar…… ScooterRallyTrip

The Video, is when Some Scoots were invited to the good morning show in anticipation for the rally..
