2008 Barista Competitions – getting closer..

well, its getting closer. The 2008 New Zealand Barista Championship is upon us.

They Kick off with the regionals:

Christchurch Tues 11th March @ C4 Roastery

Auckland Sat 5th April @ Allpress Roastery

Wellington Sun 20th April @ Coffee Supreme Roastery

And then the NZ finals will be held at Caffe L’affare Sunday 18th May 2008!

With the winner able to compete at the World Barista Championship in Copenhagen representing NZ! Winner will also walk away with a gorgeous brand new La Marzocco GS3 Espresso machine, and a very swish Compak K10 conical burr grinder.

So if your a Barista out there, taking coffee seriously, give it a whirl!

EDIT:- just heard that as part of the prize, as well as the La Marzocco Espresso machine, and Compak Grinder, the winner will have their airfares and accomodation paid for, to Copenhagen to represent NZ as well!  Mate it just gets better!!
