Thinking before opening my trap! :)

dont you hate it when, you are trying to pass on a nice cherry attitude to those coming into buy a coffee, and try to engage them in conversation? i love it, i meet so many people from all walks of life as a barista.

however, today, when trying to ‘put a smile on the dial’ so to speak of a customer coming up to order a coffee, i dig and ask if they are having a good day in a cherry manner, and they politly say yes, i continue with my chirpy ways being all excited about this brand new day ahead of us all, and continue… trying to make them smile (often a little goal of mine), then ask so what have you got planned for the day?

… and you know when you ask those sorta questions, and almost straight away you wish you hadn’t? yeah this was one of those…

he answers, i am off to bury my brother today… my heart kinda sank.. wasnt quite what i was expecting..awkwardness….. and because of this i honestly had no idea what to say….eekkk

then theres the other person who came in a little later…who seemed in good spirits and havin a bit of a chat to them, they then tell me they were feeling a little sore…

of course i enquire… oh? where?  (again, straight away knew… very bad idea!!)

they informed me that they had been peirced in a place i did not want to know!!

 Anyway all this lead me to ponder, as much as i think i DO think before i speak…

maybe i need to think a little more ahead…

you could say this barista was a little red with embarassment today!
as long as we learn from our situations huh?
